Artist Story- Borrowed Earth

"Surround yourself with what you love. We hope to inspire and uplift through our work. Passing inspiration and beauty from one person to another.”

Richie and Adele have been with us here at Texan Art Schools for years now and we adore them! Their positive philosophies and attention to detail are evident in their beautiful hand made pieces.

They believe that we can all make positive changes to the world by the choices we make every day. This belief is expressed across all aspects of their practice, from their positive social media posts through to the home made vegan treats Adele will make for us when we pop over for a cuppa.

The creative duo work full time from their beautiful waterside studio in Whangaparoa. A visit to their studio will see you greeted by a tree full of warbling Tui birds, Mr Chow the studio cat and perhaps a handful of ex battery hens.

We love that Borrowed Earth are committed to creating handmade ceramics with character that, over time, will become treasured family pieces. Opening up a box of Borrowed Earth ceramics is one of the highlights of working at Texan Art Schools. You never know what treasures will be revealed as each piece is hand crafted, hand painted, glazed or etched. It is a pleasure being able to provide our customers with these beautiful and unique pieces.
