Del Winter is the fantastically talented jeweller behind the Love Winter brand. Her light flooded studio is based in Auckland's sunny north shore.
A space for creativity and construction and where she faces the daily dilemma of balancing the realities of a jewellers studio (a place littered with metals, tiny findings and tools) and her natural sense of orderliness. Whatever chaos Del faces at her jewellers bench evidently makes it no further than her studio door. Her perfectly tidy jewellery always delights, from the neatly stamped words right through to her beautifully branded boxes. Del's talent for design can be seen in the considered lines and balanced shapes of each piece she creates.
Del shares a huge warehouse space with a number of other creative individuals on the North Shore. Close to cafes and the sunny Takapuna beach she is never far from inspirational landscapes or from a just a good spot people watching.
Her wonderfully bright an contemporary space is eclectically littered with curios and bespoke ceramic dishes by her friend Yon Kavaas. We loved seeing Del in her element among the precious metals and stones chatting about how Covid has effected her life and those of her children. The family recently had the opportunity to get away to the South Island which no doubt helped to shake off the anxiety.
